After the success of ASUS Padfone 1, SONY has now come up with the new variant of Asus Padfone which is dubbed as PADFONE 2. This device though has launched in some select places, its now been showcased in CES 2013.Many times you have heard of a tablet or smart phone launches individually but you might not have heard of tablet + Smart phone combo(except Padfone by Asus). Asus gets the exclusive privilege to come up with a smart phone and tablet PC combined device dubbed as Padfone. First generation of Asus Padfone got delayed with the launch since its first announcement and it was priced so high that it didn’t generate much sales.

Its powered with 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad core processor with 2 GB of RAM provides high end performance. The screen provides a maximum resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels along with scratch resistant Corning Fit Glass delivering ultra wide viewing angle and 550 nits provides stunning outdoor viewing experience.
The phone includes 13 mega pixel camera camera on the rear side with no shutter lag. The camera includes a host of features like it can capture 100 shots at a brisk using the Burst mode capture averaging 6 shots per second and also record 1080p HD videos easily at 30 fps or 720p HD videos can be recorded at 60 fps. Both Padfone 2 and Pad station features the superlative sound quality thanks to Asus Sonic Master technology. It will include 64 GB internal storage capacity and 50 GB of Asus WebStorage will be available for those who purchase this tablet which is valid for two years. The advantage of using internet on mobile can be shared with tablet PC as well. Padfone features SuperNote app which converts the handwritten notes by the users into editable text supporting multiple languages.
The smart phone can be docked with PadFone 2 station to convert it to fully featured 10.1 inches tablet. Asus Padfone 2 packs 2140 mAh battery for the smart phone and 5,000 mAh battery for the tablet PC. The battery specifications has been lowered if you compared it with the original Padfone which stood at 6600 mAh this is because the slimmed body weighting 649 grams.

Asus Padfone 2 Price & Availability
Asus says that Padfone 2 will be available in December this year in European countries like Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden and in Asian countries like Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and UAE. Engadget reports that in Taiwan it will be priced for an about NT$17,990 to NT$21,901 for phone only and additionally NT$6,000 for the tablet station. Availability in other countries will be released later.
