Asus Zenfone Max with 5000mAh Battery, 13MP Laser Focus Rear Camera Announced

Asus announced the ‘Zenfone Max‘ with 5,000mAh battery capacity. It will be company first smartphone to feature such a massive battery. Earlier we have seen Gionee launching the smartphone with bigger batteries through its Marathon series. The recently launched Marathon M4 along with Marathon M3 sports the same 5,000mAh battery, but none can match up with Zenfone Max when compared with other specifications. This device came as a surprise as no one has expected to launch another smartphone apart from Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Zenfone Selfie, and Zenfone 2 Laser.

Even with such a large battery, the device is just 5.2mm thick which makes it pretty impressive. According to the company, the device packs a special feature to charge other smartphones by using its 5,000mAh battery. The Zenfone Max comes with 5.5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top it.

It is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The device has 16GB of internal storage with microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB. There is a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and laser autofocus, and also a 5MP front camera.

The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI on top it. Connectivity on this include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPA/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0. The company hasn’t announced the availability and pricing of the device, but hinted it to be launched sometime in October.
