Bluboo, a little known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has been launching an impressive smartphone at dirt cheap prices. The company has recently launched a new smartphone called as Bluboo XFire 2 in China. The main USP of the device is it sports a fingerprint scanner and is the most affordable smartphone to come with that feature. The smartphone sports premium looks as it comes with thin arc design completely made out of metal. The Bluboo XFire 2 comes in single sim and dual sim variants and is priced at $59.99 and $73.86 respectively.
Coming to the specifications part, the Bluboo XFire 2 flaunts a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD display offering a pixel density of 294ppi and 2.5D arc glass laid on top of it. Under the hood, it packs 64-bit MediaTek MT6580 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired with Mali-400 MP GPU and 1GB of RAM. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. It comes with 8GB of onboard storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 32GB.
On the camera cordon, the smartphone sports an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash. On the front, it has a 5MP shooter accompanied with LED flash, beauty mode, 88-degree wide angle to capture perfect selfie images. Connectivity options on the device include 2G/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0 port. The only downside of the device is it lacks the 4G-LTE support that is offered by most of the devices these days.
The handset powers a 2150mAh battery that can easily last for an entire day considering the low-end specifications of the device. The fingerprint sensor on the device supports 5 fingerprints at a time and can unlock the smartphone and specified apps in just 0.5 seconds. The dimensions of the device measure 142 x 70 x 7.6 mm and weighs around 135 grams. The smartphone comes with 8 customized themes pre-installed and is available in Black, White, Gold and Rose Gold color options.
To recap, Bluboo has recently announced its plans to enter Indian smartphone market in partnership with Aircel. The brands 2015 flagship ‘Bluboo Xtouch‘ will be the first smartphone to launch in India by the company. The Xtouch sports premium looks with metallic frame surrounded by the device and also sports a 3D glass with printed triangular patterns on the back. The smartphone features 5-inch 1080p display, MediaTek MT6753 SoC, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 13MP main camera, 3050mAh battery and fingerprint sensor embedded in the physical home button.
