Cheetah Mobile & Cubot Launches CheetahPhone with Android Marshmallow at $220

Cheetah Mobile, the creator of Clean Master and various other mobile utility applications, has been in the rumors from past couple of weeks about the launch of its first smartphone. Cheetah Mobile has teamed up with Cubot and has launched a co-branded smartphone called as CheetahPhone at the MWC 2016 event in Barcelona. The smartphone comes with an impressive set of specifications and will be targeted towards the mid-range users. The CheetahPhone will first roll-out in Europe and will be later followed by Africa and other markets. The device is priced at $220 will be available for purchase online exclusively via Amazon starting April 2016.

Coming to the specifications part, the CheetahPhone flaunts a 5.5-inch (1920×1080 pixels) full-HD IPS display offering 401ppi as pixel density, and Gorilla Glass laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, it comes equipped with MediaTek MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM for the smooth and lag-free performance of the device. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

On the photographic section, the smartphone sports a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera to capture perfect selfie images. Connectivity options on the device include 4G-LTE/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB 2.0 port. It comes with 32GB of built-in storage and 10GB of additional cloud storage as its expansion. The handset sports premium looks with all-metal unibody design and also has the branding of both Cubot and Cheetah Mobile at the back panel.

The smartphone powers a 3050mAh battery that has the energy to easily last for an entire day on a single charge. The CheetahPhone also comes with inbuilt Clean Master software which the company claims can deliver upto 38% longer battery life when compared to devices using stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The smartphone also includes a fingerprint sensor placed below the camera module for enhanced security. The dimensions of the device measure 149 x 74.9 x 7.95 mm and comes in Gold, Silver, Rose Gold and Space Grey color variants.
