A Filipino based smartphone manufacturer, Cherry Mobile is popular for launching affordable Android devices. The brand launched Cubix Cube smartphone last year that came with impressive specifications at an aggressive price tag. Now, the company has launched the smaller variant of the smartphone called as Cubix Cube Lite with low-end specifications. The smartphone will be available online exclusively via Lazada and is priced at Php 2,999 (approx $64).
Talking about the specifications, the Cubix Cube Lite flaunts a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display offering a pixel density of 294ppi. Under the hood, it packs unspecified MediaTek quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali 400 GPU. On the camera cordon, the device sports a 5MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front shooter for video chats and selfie lovers.
The device comes with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of inbuilt storage and can be further expanded using a microSD card upto 32GB. The handset supports dual sim dual standby and comes with basic connectivity options like 2G/3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi and microUSB 2.0 port. The smartphone lacks 4G-LTE connectivity and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
The handset comes backed by a 2500mAh battery that the company claims can easily last for an entire day on mixed usage considering the entry-level specifications of the smartphone. The dimensions of the device measure 134 x 69 x 10 mm weighs around 110 grams and will be available in Black, Gold and Silver color variants.
To recap, Cherry Mobile has recently launched a selfie-centric smartphone called as Cherry Mobile Flare Selfie priced at Php 7,999 (approx $170). The main USP of the device is it comes with 16MP front shooter with LED flash and is designed for selfie lovers. The Flare Selfie features 5-inch HD display, MediaTek MT6735 octa-core SoC, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage, 16MP Samsung primary camera, 4G-LTE and 3000mAh battery. The smartphone also sports a fingerprint sensor and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
