A Filipino mobile phone and electronics company, Cherry Mobile, is known for launching impressive smartphones at affordable prices. Today, the company has announced yet another impressive selfie-focused device called as Cherry Mobile Flare Selfie. The smartphone that is designed for selfie lovers is expected to be priced around Php 7,999 (approx $169) and will go on sale starting January 2016.
Coming to its specifications, the Flare Selfie flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with 294ppi as pixel density and DragonTrail Glass protection laid over top of it. Under the hood, is the 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The device comes with 16GB of built-in storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card slot upto 32GB.
On the camera section, the device sports a 16MP rear camera with autofocus, Samsung sensors and dual LED flash. The main highlight of the smartphone is 16MP front snapper accompanied with LED flash that clicks perfect selfie images. Connectivity options on the dual sim capable device include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi and microUSB port.
The flare selfie also includes a fingerprint sensor placed on the back for enhanced security of the device. The handset comes backed by a 3000mAh battery that the company claims can easily last for an entire day on mixed usage. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and will come in Black and White color variants. Stay tuned for launch, availability and pricing of the smartphone in coming days.
