OnePlus has issued an update on software releases for the OnePlus One today on their blog. Cyanogen OS 12.1 is currently in testing for the OnePlus One while an OxygenOS update for Android 5.1 won’t arrive until after the OnePlus 2 arrives.
Cyanogen OS 12.1 (based on Android 5.1) is currently undergoing testing and Google certification. On the other side of things. OnePlus also said that a fix is coming for OnePlus One users who are experiencing touchscreen issues with their device. There’s no timeline on when it will arrive, but both OxygenOS and Cyanogen OS will receive the minor update.
Recently, the alleged OnePlus 2 got benchmarked according to which, it will run Android 5.1 Lollipop, and would be powered by a 64-bit 1.55GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) processor. The results also list 2.7GB RAM (implying a total of 3GB of RAM). The alleged OnePlus Two has also received scores of 1256 for single-core and 4093 for multi-core.
Earlier a report on GizChina had noted how OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had discussed the specifications of his company’s upcoming smartphone on China’s Weibo site.The report said that Lau had spoken about how OnePlus Two will launch in Q3 of 2015 and will come with Snapdragon 810 SoC. It will be priced at $403, if one were to go by Lau’s comments on Weibo.
