All you need to Know – Color OS 2.0 for Oppo Find 7 and Find 7a – Details

Color OS finally gets an update in itself and is dubbed as Color OS 2.0. This all new Color OS 2.0 is all set to be pushed to Oppo’s Find 7 and Find 7a which ropes in the Kitkat 4.4 Android OS. The best part of this update is that it comes with the many new things apart from just visual refresh. Over a period of this article we will be checking out in depth about the change log. While some may still say that while it’s the time that Oppo should work on pushing the Lollipop 5.0 OS, the Color OS update should make up a bit considering the fact that there are many new things in this update. ColorOS 2.0 is based on Android 4.4 KitKat android firmware.

So let’s get started and check out on what are the new things before you can just decide on whether it’s worth to even apply this update or not;

Refreshed UI:
Color OS 2.0 comes with the all new UI when compared with the likes of Color OS 1.0 and adopts the much needed minimalistic design and also comes with the elements which are easier to recognize.

System Wide Animation:
While Color OS 2.0 looks to bridge the gap between the Kitkat and the latest Lollipop OS as many of the animations are similar to that of what we see in the Android L release which was released to developers earlier few months back. Transitions across the app looks natural and are also fluidic in nature which in turn leaves a faster navigation experience.

Redefined Task Manager:
All new task manager with the new design shows the tasks in the card UI which you can slide it up and down. One can also slide it down to lock it or tap the end all button to close them all (locked apps won’t not be closed).

New Launcher:
From the dual layered launcher previously, this new update also comes with the new launcher which is dubbed as the Single Layer launcher which helps in managing the apps simply and with more perfection.

Power Saving & Optimized Firmware:
By reducing the animation effects wherever possible, the CPU utilization has been worked upon which in turn makes whole device much faster and zippier. This new firmware also comes with the memory cleaner in the security centre which enables you to control and release memory more easily.

Other improvements:

  • Default lock screen has been changed along with the addition of “Slide upward to unlock” and also the Call & Messages shortcut in the default lock screen has been added
  • Resolution settings for ultra-HD photos has been added and also one can choose between 50MP and 24MP photos
  • Continuous play settings in video player has been added
  • USB Debugging option has been added in the notification centre and also is visible when the device is connected to the computer
  • Pre-installed Kingsoft Office app has been updated
  • Ability to sort contact list by Given name/Family name has been added
  • Quick to top button in Files, Email and Message list interface has been added
  • Calendar interface has been changed
  • Ability to manually adjust the screen brightness when auto-brightness is enabled
  • “Notes” app and replaced it with Google keep as the default note app

Oppo has pushed the updates to both the devices which are Find 7 and Find 7a and can be downloaded for the above mentioned change log.
