Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has officially launched its flagship phablet, the Mi Note Pro. Xiaomi Note Pro features a 5.7 inch display with 4 RAM and the highly-anticipated Snapdragon 810 chipsets. Last month, Samsung had officially launched the Galaxy Note 4 with Snapdragon 810, making it the first Android OEM to ship a phone with a next-gen chip.
Let us now compare Mi Note Pro and Samsung Note 4 in terms of their hardware, as well as software performance:
Display
Both, Xiaomi Mi Note Pro and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 feature a 5.7-inch 2K (2560×1440 pixels) display with the enviable 515ppi pixel density.
Xiaomi has used dynamic contrast pixel adjustment technology that automatically improves contrast of darker areas to make the picture appear better.
Performance
Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM , while Galaxy Note 4 features a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, an Adreno 420 GPU, and 3GB of RAM.
Last month, Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 4 with Snapdragon 81O processor.
Memory
The Mi Note Pro comes with 64GB of internal space whereas the Note 4 comes with 32GB of internal space and an SD card that allows you to add up to 128GB of external storage.
Camera
Mi Note Pro comes with a 13-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization on the back and a 4-megapixel front-facing camera with 2um pixel size. The rear camera has a Philips 2-tone flash for natural brightening.
Note 4 features a 16 –megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization and 3.7 megapixel front facing camera. The Note 4 offers live HDR mode feature.
Connectivity Options
Mi Note Pro supports LTE Cat. 9 networks with download speeds up to 450Mbps, while the Galaxy Note 4 features LTE-A (Cat.6) connectivity (N910S) on a select model, with a theoretical maximum download speed of 300Mbps. NFC is missing in Mi Note 4, while it is present in Note 4. All other connectivity options are same on both phablets.
Software
Mi Note Pro runs on MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4 KitKat, while the Galaxy Note 4 runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung’s TouchWiz skin on top. Note 4 is expected to get lollipop update in coming days.
Battery
The Mi Note Pro is backed by a 3090 mAh battery, whereas battery on the Note 4 is 3220 mAh.
