How to Downgrade Motorola Droid X to Official 2.3.340 firmware

Downgrade Tutorial for Linux / MAC Users:

  • Download SBF_FLASH tool along with the 2.3.340 Firmware file in your computer and then unzip the SBF_Flash zip file and 2.3.340 Firmware file in your computer.
  • Now, turn off the Motorola Droid X so as to boot the device in the boot loader mode. The boot loader mode in the Motorola Droid X can be entered by holding down Volume Down, the Camera & the Power buttons. If the device boots normally, you need to try again to enter into the same.
  • Once you enter the device in the boot loader mode, with the help of USB cable connect the phone to the computer.
  • Open the terminal in your computer and run the below mentioned commands.

chmod +x sbf_flash

/sbf_flash VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.sbf

  • It will take around 15 – 20 minutes for applying this update and once it’s done the device will be rebooting on its own. Remove the battery and power back the device while holding the “Home” button. As soon as you see the Android triangle symbol along with an exclamation mark, press on the Search Button.
  • Choose “Wipe data/factory reset” and once it’s done, you need to select “reboot system now” to reboot the phone and enjoy the device on the official default stock firmware of 2.3.340.
