The much needed intelligence was required from Google Maps as ther haven’t been anything major after transit maps and offline option of downloading the routes. This new app from Google comes with the deeper level of material design along with many new features which empowers users to book / track Uber cab etc. So let’s check out one after other on what are the new features along with the new in visual design of this app. This is a major leap from Google Maps 6 version and other previous versions.
Uber, the taxi service has been tightly integrated into the Google Maps which allows you to see the estimated pickup time for an Uber, as well as the estimated fare based on the directions you’re currently seeking under the transit or walking direction modes. This tighter integration of Uber has been done on a pilot process and many more taxi service apps will be integrated similarly.
Open table integration allows you to reserve the table from restaurant as well where Google did a tie up with few of the restaurants on a pilot process. We have also shown some of the screen captures below. This Open table integration is only available in selected cities.
This APK is signed and when installed will overwrite the existing app of Google Maps. All future updates will be as usual from the Google PLAY Store.
