How to mirror and stream Android screen recording to Air Play, Chromecast, Amazon’s Fire TV devices – Guide

Koush had earlier released an app which helps you to mirror to other devices via various streaming protocols. Now, Koush has released an all new app which helps your phone / tablet to other devices as well and also additionally helps you to even record the screen and what’s sweet is that to do this you no longer will have to root. But the only catch is that it will only work on the latest release of Lollipop 5.0 Android OS. All thanks to the 5000 new APIs which Google had released which are there in Lollipop 5.0 OS.

As seen in the above screen captures, this new app comes with the support of Air Play, Chromecast, Amazon’s Fire TV along with the All Cast devices. The moment you record the screen, the same will be prompted in your device with a pop-up and then you can mirror the same to your Chrome, Apple TV, or Fire TV. All you need to do is a simple setup with the AllCast Receiver app (except on Apple TV) which works with the Lollipop OS. This also supports the earlier versions of Android but will need the root access as by default Google doesn’t have API support without root. Since this is still in the beta release, this app may have few number of bugs which too will be fixed in coming days to come.

Do note that currently there are no options, save for the “show touches” toggle in the notification while recording. While the latest version of Lollipop 5.0 for Nexus devices and LG G3 is round the corner, till then you can install this one in any of the Lollipop devices which are on the developer builds and other AOSP builds. Do let us know in the comments section if you come across with any of the issues / concerns.
