Indian Railways comes out with an Official Android App which comes with the sleek, stylish yet simple UI. So, gone are the days when you had to visit the official website of IRCTC for booking the ticket as you can now book tickets from virtually anywhere, all you need is an Official app along with the good internet speed. The proposition of this app by IRCTC is pretty much simple, just SWIPE, SHUFFLE, SELECT and BOOK the tickets to your destination. Every day, millions of tickets are booked via IRCTC and the need of convenience was the need of an hour. Apart from Android devices, this app was earlier launched for Windows Phone 8 and select Blackberry devices.
While IRCTC is now working for creating an app specifically for android tablet, this smartphone version will also be bumped up with many other features. IRCTC is also in the process of Wallet integration which will be rolled out in coming months to come. For monetization, this app from Indian Railways comes with the Google Ads support. The app size is 12.1MB and supports all android devices which are above Jellybean 4.1 and above. App marks a decent start from Indian Railways, there are some features like Cloud Sync as the booked history section still needs to be incorporated in the app.
