Yahoo Mail is an Android application developed by Yahoo Inc., so called one of the early competitors of Google. Don’t think that competitors don’t provide services to each other, it’s the other way. This application once installed on your mobile phone will allow you to do what ever that you can do it on your personal computer as well. From composing mails to search for a particular mail, Adding folder, empty the trash, empty spam, changing password, adding multiple yahoo accounts to preview attachments you can do it on your smartphone.
For chatting, you need to install the Yahoo Messenger Android application. With this Yahoo Mail application you can manage multiple Yahoo account together and these comes with push email notifications as well.
As soon as you run this application on your mobile phone, for the first time you will asked to provide the login id and the password of the existing Gmail ID. Don’t worry if you don’t have any as you can tap on Get a new Yahoo ID and signup for a free account.
Once you login through, as a first time users you will be asked whether to sync your contacts to phone or not. Its your choice, when you are done click on DONE at the top. That’s it. With that you will be now presented what’s called as the Yahoo Mail dashboard. There you go with Inbox, Spam, Sent mails, Smart folders created by you and Trash.
When you tap on the menu button you have the options to Compose a new mail, Search, Refresh, Messenger, various other options and you can even add folders, empty trash.
The compose mail option allows you to send the mails as usually you do it on your desktop. You can send it to multiple contacts, with CC and BCC as well along with the message body content. This application will automatically add the last line as ‘Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android’ to make it clearly understand that this mail is via mobile phone. While composing mail you can also use smilies, add text colors, upload attachments, upload picture and these options are located at the bottom of your screen. The cancel and the Send option are located at the top. Overall the interface of composing a mail is very simple allowing you compose email faster, smarter and in easier way as well.
To add another Yahoo ID to this application, you need to click on the Account option located at the top and then finally click on the Manage account in the accounts page. When you do that you will be provided with option of Add Account and Delete account and its clearly understood as well. When you add an account, its contacts are merged with the existing contacts of your email ID.
Overall Yahoo Mail application for Android is very good one to access your personal Yahoo Mails.
