How to Fix Bricked Phone & Factory Restore Samsung Epic 4G

Pre Requisites (Not for Bricked Users):

  • Backup all your data which is stored in your phone memory so that just in case if any data is lost or corrupted, you can then restore back the same. With below mentioned tips, you can backup and restore the data.

Notes – Backup in the mail so that you can then restore manually
SMS Messages – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts Stored in Phone Memory – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Videos, Images, Videos & Files etc.– Copy to internal / External SD Card,
Internet & MMS Settings – Backup all the settings from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • After this, disable all the Firewall tools and also the Antivirus suites if any installed in your phone as well as in your computer. Not to forget, you also need to enable the USB debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”. Phone should be left with charge with the minimum level of 60% so as to ensure that the phone doesn’t get turned off in the process of the firmware process.
  • After this you need to download the firmware which you wish to apply in your computer which may be EC 05 version of Froyo in your computer.

So, once you are done with this you need to proceed to the next page where we will see on what is the procedure to update Epic 4G with the default firmware.
