Gaikai is the known service of the cloud gaming and today they have come up with Gaikai Gamer Android tablet which is in partnership with WikiPad. Makers from Gaikai are experimenting more with tie up of big names in the industry, recently they debuted with a Facebook app which allows game streaming through the # 1 social network. With the change in cloud gaming video consoles, the WikiPad tablet is announced keeping the cloud gaming into a new horizon. This is one of the existing devices for the real gamers till date and its designed keeping the gamers in mind along with enhances mobile gaming experience. The controls are par with various consoles and gamepads which can be done using the touchscreen.
Gaikai WikiPad is an 8 inches touchscreen tablet which comes with glasses free providing 1080p HD videos playback. So this is uncommon form factor as we generally see 7 inches and 10 inches as the common. This is powered with single core 1.2 Ghz processor, upgraded to quad core right now. It comes with two camera one for taking photos located at the back and another one is on the front which can be used for video chat and video calls. It comes with 8 Gb of the on board memory and also includes SD card slot which has the provision of expanding the memory of 64 GB supported.
The good thing is that comes with Android 4.0 the latest Ice Cream Sandwich operating system by Google. Basically it comes with Wi Fi internet access and has the choice of providing an optional 3D module which could be available soon. This can play videos like H.263, H.264, VC1, VOB, ISO, M2TS and FLV and various other audio file supported.
Since we spotted WikiPad tablet at CES 2012, it hasn’t been launched yet until now and with some changes relatively with feedback by gamers around this tablet will come out with latest entertainment features and enhanced specifications along with ultra-light chassis.
Still the official launch date of this tablet is not announced and there are no details on the pricing of it as well. We are surely that it will be priced more than the normal 10.1 inches tablet in the market and we expect it to be atleast $ 250.
