How to Update iBerry BT07i to Android 4.0 Official ICS Update

Tagged as the India’s first Android 4.0 ICS tablet manufacturer iBerry, has come up with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update of the its previous model BT07i tablet which was launched last year.

For iBerry BT07i the new OS is based on the stock interface of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and this update brings you the changes in the design and the appearances of the operating system. We all know that Ice Cream Sandwich is the operating system designed for both tablet and smartphones, it’s the best optimized for better value of your product. Some of the improvements included in the iBerry BT07i are as follows –

  • This update improves the camera application which can be accessed directly from your standby mode using the unlock or the slider button.
  • A new gallery application is added
  • Dismiss apps from the recently used menu
  • Performance tweaking
  • Improves battery life of the tablet

This software update is of file size around 250 MB and this is only available via manual update procedure rather than what we see with other tablets is through the over the air update.

Users who update with this on to their tablet will feel many changes and importantly they will see a huge boost in the battery life of their tablet. Its quite important to backup application and data on to your tablet so as during this upgrade procedure everything would be lost on to your device.

iBerry BT07i ICS Update Procedure

Following is the procedure on how you can update –

  • First you need to download the firmware package directly from the iBerry site. The firmware package is of 250 MB and once download we can proceed with the upgrade.
  • Insert a MicroSD card (Minimum 512MB) in your computer.
  • Open the folder “Update Tool” and run “PhoenixCard.exe”.Phoenix
  • Under “Card and Image”, select the appropriate drive of your MicroSD card from the drop-down list.
  • Click the button “Img File” and select the file “BT07i-4.0.img” in the “Image” folder.Phoenix Update
  • Click the button “Burn” and wait for the process to complete until you see the message “Burn End…”
  • Remove the MicroSD card from your computer and insert it into your tablet PC when it is turned OFF.
  • Turn ON your tablet PC and wait for the 1st-update process to complete. Once completed your tablet PC will turn off.
  • Again Turn ON your tablet PC to complete 2nd-update and final process. Once completed the tablet PC will turn off.
  • Remove the MicroSD card from the tablet PC and turn it ON your tablet.

Now your tablet would be with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and it will take sometime for loading first time with ICS. Do let us know how this updates goes to your tablet.
