Samsung has been in the news for a while now about the launch of its next-gen J-series smartphones. Earlier, we exclusively covered about the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) receiving the TENAA certifications and the images of the smartphones also surfaced online several times. Today, the brand has officially released the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) in China. The devices are the successor of the Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 that launched last year. The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) are priced at 1398 Yuan (approx $215 / Rs. 14,300) and 1898 Yuan (approx $292 / Rs. 19,500) respectively. The devices are available for purchase in China via all the leading online and offline stores.

Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016)
The Galaxy J5 (2016) flaunts a 5.2-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display offering a pixel density of 284ppi and comes powered by unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz clubbed with 2GB of RAM. The device supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI out of the box. It comes with 16GB of onboard storage and also includes an externalSD card option for further expansion of memory upto 128GB. Connectivity options on the device include 4G-LTE, VoLTE, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB 2.0 port.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016)
The Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD Super AMOLED display offering a pixel density of 401ppi. Under the hood, it comes powered by unknown 1.6GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM for smooth and lag-free performance. It has dual sim dual standby and includes standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth and microUSB port. It has 16GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion of memory upto 128GB.
On the camera department, the smartphone comes with the same set of cameras as seen on the Galaxy J5 (2016), a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter with LED flash. The handset powers a 3300mAh battery that the company claims has the energy to last upto 354 hours of standby time. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI overlaid, and there is no information about the Android Marshmallow update. Its dimensions measure 151.7 x 76 x 7.8 mm and weighs around 170 grams.
