The global smartphone manufacturer, Gionee launched the impressive Gionee S6 in China back in November last year. Now, the company has officially launched the Gionee S6 smartphone India. The device feels premium in hand with all-metal unibody design and also is very sleek measuring just 6.9mm at its thickest. The Gionee S6 is priced at Rs. 19,999 and is available for sale online exclusively via Flipkart.
Coming to the specifications part, the Gionee S6 flaunts a 5.5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display offering a pixel density of 267ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, it comes equipped with 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM for lag free performance. It comes with hybrid sim slot that also lets you use as a microSD card slot instead of the second sim. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Amigo 3.1 UI out of the box.
On the photographic section, the device sports a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF for faster focus, LED flash and also supports 1080p video recording at 30fps. On the front, it has a 5MP snapper with wide angle lens and gesture capture for video chats and perfect selfie images. It includes standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB Type-C port. It is only the second device from Gionee to feature USB Type-C port after the Gionee S+ that launched last year.
The smartphone has 32GB of onboard storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 128GB. The handset powers a 3150mAh battery that has the energy to last upto 18.8 hours of talk time and upto 342 hours of standby time. The dimensions of the device measure 151.9 x 74.6 x 6.9 mm weighs around 148 grams and comes in Gold, Silver and Rose Gold color options. The Gionee S6 with rick looks and high-end specifications will be a good competitor for the likes recently launched Oppo F1 and Lenovo Vibe X3 that come with almost similar specifications and pricing.
A quick recall, Gionee has recently launched a low-end smartphone in India called as Gionee P5W priced at Rs. 6,499. The device is targeted towards the younger generation and also comes with many innovative features. The Gionee P5W features 5-inch HD display, MediaTek MT6735 SoC, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter, 2000mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
