Gionee S8 Lite (GIONEE GN9012) with 5.5″ Display & 4GB RAM Certified by TENAA

Gionee launched the flagship Gionee S8 in China last month along with the Gionee W909 high-end Clamshell smartphone. The company has been silent, and there are no major launches in the recent times. Today, a new upper mid-range smartphone from Gionee has been certified by TENAA revealing most of the key specifications and design. The smartphone comes with model number GIONEE GN9012 and is expected to be the smaller variant of the Gionee S8 and will probably be called as Gionee S8 Lite.

As per the TENAA listing, the Gionee S8 Lite will flaunt a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD display and offers a pixel density of 401ppi. The smartphone is expected to miss out 3D Touch feature that was seen on the Gionee S8. The smartphone will come powered by same Helio P10 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz paired with Mali-T860 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 32GB of built-in storage that can be further expanded to 128GB via an externalSD card slot.

On the camera front, the smartphone will feature a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front snapper for selfie lovers when compared to Gionee S8, which sports a 16MP primary camera and 8MP selfie snapper. The device supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It includes standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth and microUSB port.

The device is designed similarly like the Gionee S8 with the only difference being the camera placement at the back of the unit. The smartphone comes with an all-metal unibody design and also includes a fingerprint sensor integrated into the physical home button for advanced security. The handset powers a 3130mAh battery and will support fast charging technology. Its dimensions measure 153 x 75.3 x 7.6 mm weighs around 150 grams and is listed in Gold color option.

The company has confirmed none of the above details, but as it has now received the TENAA approval, we can expect it to launch soon in China. Stay tuned for more updates about the official launch in coming days.
