The Chinese smartphone giant, Huawei has recently launched its flagship Huawei P9 smartphone with dual 12MP Leica cameras. The company has been in the news for a while now about the launch of its flagship smartphone under its Honor sub-brand called as Honor V8. The device was also earlier spotted on TENAA revealing most of the key specifications and design. As teased earlier, Honor has today officially released its flagship smartphone under its new V-series called as Honor V8 in China.

The Honor V8 comes with a full-metal body and also includes a fingerprint sensor with 3D recognition technology at the back of the unit for advanced security. The smartphone comes in two variants, one with a 5.7-inch (2560×1440 pixels) 2K IPS 2.5D curved display offering a pixel density of 515ppi while the other variant of the smartphone flaunts a 5.7-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD display with 389ppi as pixel density. It is the first smartphone from the brand to launch with Quad-HD display. Under the hood, the device packs Kirin 950 octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz clubbed with Mali-T880 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
The smartphone features a hybrid sim slot that can be aletrnatively used as microSD card slot instead of the second sim. It has 32GB/64GB of built-in storage options and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion of memory upto 128GB. The main USP of the device is it features dual 12MP rear cameras with laser autofocus, dual-tone LED flash and an 8MP frontg-facing snapper for selfie lovers. The primary camera of the smartphone can also capture 3D images and can record videos in 2K resolution. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1 overlaid.
The smartphone comes backed by a 3500mAh battery that can easily last for an entire day of mixed usage and also supports fast charging technology with the provided 9V/2A charger. It includes standard connectivity options like 4G+, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port. The smartphones supports company’s own virtual payment system “Huawei Pay” and also comes with a IR blaster for remotely controlling home appliances. All the variants of the device comes in Gold, Silver, White, Pink and Grey color variants.
Coming to the pricing, the Honor V8 with full-HD display and 32GB storage is priced at 2299 Yuan while the NFC enabled variant costs 2499 Yuan. The high end variant with Quad-HD display and 64GB storage is priced at 2799 Yuan. The device is available for registrtaions starting today and will go on sale starting May 17th.
