Google OnHub smart wireless router for $199 – Details

Beautiful OnHub smart wireless router is the new device from Google and is available in Google Play Store which comes with the price tag of $199. Of late, Google is trying out new things post acquisition of Nest and Dropcam and this wireless router is an outcome of partnering with TP-Link to make a WiFi router called as OnHub. The specialty of this router is that it automatically adjusts the bandwidth and channels so as to match the usage and also remembers the devices. This one has also got the Bluetooth speaker along with the mobile app to manage everything. A mobile app called as “Google On” can be downloaded from Google Play Store.

This router supports 2.4 and 5GHz channels along with the capability of 802.11 b/g/n/ac. This one comes with an array of 13 antennas to make sure that it radiates the signal in all directions equally and router’s software scans every 5 minutes to find the less congested wireless channel. This device also comes with the support of Google Weave and Zigbee which is into home automation. Google will also be updating this device in coming days to come to add more muscle to this hardware. Tis one has also got the USB 3.0 port along with just one Ethernet port which may not suit for the users who prefer LAN connection.

This device is available for $199 and will be shipped in the next 2-3 weeks of time. This device will be available in Black color as of now and will be available from Amazon, Newegg, TP-Link, Fry’s, and Walmart. As of now there is no availability on by when this will be available globally.
