Google Pixel C Android Based Tablet with 10.2-inch Display Officially Announced

Google announced two new Nexus devices in an event held in San Francisco on Sep 29. Along with the all new Nexus devices Google also unveiled a new premium tablet expanding its pixel series called Pixel C. Unlike the earlier released Chromebook Pixel tablets the Pixel C will run on Android OS and not Chome OS.

The Pixel C tablet is internally codenamed as Ryu, and will feature a 10.2-inch display with 308ppi as pixel density and bright backlight rated at 500 nits. The tablet comes powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra X1 quad-core SoC along with Maxwell made GPU and 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is also also feature a USB Type-C port.

The Pixel C will look similar to Chromebook Pixel tablets and will be made out of a metal body. The device will also have similar LED indicator like Chromebook and will also be accompanied by two detachable keyboard accessories with Aluminum and Leatherback covers.

As of now there is no information on the launch date and pricing of the tablet, but we can expect it to launch sometime in November. It comes in 32GB and 64GB varaiants which are priced at $499 and $599 respectively. The keyboard accessory will be sold separately for $149.
