Earlier, we exclusively reported about Honor launching Honor 5X smartphone in the US priced aggressively at $200. Today, the company has officially launched the successor of Honor 4X smartphone called as Honor 5X in India. The smartphone is priced aggressively at Rs. 12,999 and will be available for purchase online exclusively via Flipkart and Amazon from Feb 1st. The smartphone will be a tough competitor for the likes of recently launched Lenovo K4 Note and LeEco Le 1s smartphones.
The Honor 5X sports an all-metal body made out of aluminum alloy and also feels premium in hand with the curved design. Regarding specifications, the smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) Full-HD display with 403ppi as pixel density, and Corning Gorilla Glass laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, it comes powered by Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. The device has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with microSD card slot for expansion upto 128GB.
On the camera front, the device features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and blue glass infrared filter for maximum brightness. On the front, it has a 5MP snapper with a f/2.4 aperture to capture the perfect selfie images. The rear camera also comes with ‘Food Mode’ that was earlier seen in the Honor 7 smartphone. Connectivity options on the dual sim capable device include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB 2.0 port.
The device also features a fingerprint scanner placed on the back of the device that is rated to unlock the device is just 0.48 seconds. The smartphone comes backed by a 3000mAh battery with quick charge 3.0 support that can charge the battery from 0-50% in just half hour of time and Smart Power 3.0 technology for power efficiency. The handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based EMUI 3.1 out of the box. The dimensions of the smartphone measure 143.1 x 71.8 x 9.7 mm weighs around 159 grams and comes in Dark Grey, Sunset Gold, and Silver color options.
