Huawei Honor 5X Smartphone with Snapdragon 615 SoC Launched at $157

2015 has been a great year for the Chinese-based smartphone manufacturer Huawei as it introduced many impressive smartphones and managed to increase their profits quite significantly. The company is also ranked as the third largest smartphone maker in the world and is constantly rising. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer in partnership with Google also made the first ever Huawei branded Nexus device called Nexus 6P that launched recently in India at Rs. 39,999.

Today, a new device from Huawei called as Honor 5X has been launched in China. The Honor 5X is the successor to last year’s Honor 4X and is an upgrade in every aspect. The Honor 5X comes with the mid-range specifications and also sports a full metal unibody design when compared to polycarbonate body seen in Honor 4X.

Coming to its specifications, the Honor 5X flaunts a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) Full-HD display with 403ppi as pixel density and under the hood it comes powered by Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. The device has 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB internal storage with microSD card slot for expansion upto 128GB.

On the camera front, the device features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP front-facing camera to capture the perfect selfie images. The rear camera also comes with ‘Food Mode’ that was earlier seen in the recently launched Honor 7 smartphone. Connectivity options on the dual sim capable device include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and a microUSB port.

The smartphone comes backed by a 3000mAh battery with quick charge 3.0 support that can charge the smartphone from 0-50% in just half hour of time. The handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The smartphone also features a fingerprint scanner placed on the back of the device that is rated to unlock the device is just 0.48 seconds. The Honor 5X is priced at 999 Yuan for the 2GB variant and 1399 Yuan for the 3GB variant.
