Yu has launched the Indian Exclusive Cyanogen Smartphone “Yureka”, last year in December. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display. It has a 13MP rear camera and 5 MP front-facing camera. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. Yureka smartphone is priced at Rs 8,999/- & is exclusively available on Amazon.

Pre-Requisites
- Ensure the device has at least 70% battery charge to prevent unexpected device shutdown (due to battery drain).
- The instructions given in this guide are meant for Yu Yureka smartphone only.
- Verify correct USB drivers for the device are installed on the computer.
- Enable USB Debugging mode via Settings and Developer Options.
- Backup your Device : Back up important data and stuff.
- Install the Latest CWM / TWRP Recovery : We will be flashing the SuperSU root manager app to the device using the custom recovery, so make sure you have a working installation of CWM recovery on your device. You can check out the Steps to install CWM Recovery on Yu Yureka smartphone.
- Bootloader should be unlocked. Follow the Steps to unlock the Bootloader.
Steps to Root the Smartphone
- Download the superuser file.
- Place the file in the internal storage or external storage of your device.
- Boot your device into recovery mode.Follow the instructions below to boot into recovery mode:
- Power off your device and wait 4-5 seconds after lights go off.
- Press and hold Power + Volume Up + Volume Down button together for a few seconds and then release the buttons as soon as you see the boot menu screen.
- Now, select “install zip” from storage and browse to the folder where you have downloaded the superuser.zip
- Once done with the installation process, navigate to ‘+++++Go Back+++++’ and re-start the device by opting “reboot system now” seen in the recovery menu..
