A new tablet from HP appeared today in HP’s Android tablet lineup. This new model it’s named HP 8 1401, and looking at the specs we notice an entry-level device. HP launched this new tablet on their website, without any announcements. This is a 7.85 inch tablet with quad core chipset and will be running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean operating System. The device was priced for $169.99 on the company’s web store.
HP 8 Tablet comes with a 7.85 inch IPS touch screen display with 1024 x 768 pixel resolutions and will be running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Operating System. The device is powered by a quad-core Allwinner A31s chipset with PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU, coupled with 1 GB of RAM, however the clocking speed of the processor was not mentioned. The HP 8 1401 tablet has a 2 megapixel fixed focus rear camera, and also has a 0.3 (VGA) megapixel front facing camera for video calling and selfies.
The HP 8 Tablet has 16 GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card slot and there is no word on the maximum supported storage capacity. Coming to the connectivity of the device it includes Wi-Fi, Micro-USB and 3.5mm audio jack. There is 3800 mAh battery on the back to power the device. This tablet comes with dimensions 200.3 x 136.3 x 7.95 mm and weighs about 312 grams.It also comes with pre-loaded with a bunch of apps like Kingsoft Office, HP Connected Photo (powered by Snapfish), Box (with free 25GB lifetime cloud storage), and HP ePrint.
