Procedure to Update Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 on HTC Desire Z / G2:
- First up you need to download the ICS for HTC Desire Z G2 Phone Zip file in your phone and then you need to proceed to connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase of the phone. Ensure that you are not renaming the file in any manner or else it will not be detecting the zip file.
- After this you will now need to proceed to install the ROM Manager in your phone. You can download and install the ROM Manager application into your phone. As soon as its downloaded and installed in your phone, you now need to open the application in your phone which will be there in the “Applications”. Ensure that you have created the backup of your current existing ROM so that the same can be restored just in case if you face any issues. You can easily backup current Stock ROM by just following some simple instructions.
- Now, in the ROM Manager you will have to choose the option of “Install ROM from SD Card” after which you will see many options in the list from where you will have to then select the zip file which you have placed. As soon as you select the file you will now need to wait till the firmware is updated.
- As soon as the firmware is updated successfully, select the option of ++++Go Back++++ and then tap on the “Reboot System Now” option to restart the phone and that’s it you have now successfully updated the HTC Desire Z G2 Phone to the latest alpha build of Ice Cream Sandwich release. Please note that it may also get restarted automatically.
