Huawei has today partnered with Jumia to launch a battery-focused smartphone called as Huawei G Power in Nigeria. The Huawei G Power is the same smartphone that was launched in China as Huawei Enjoy 5 and was also recently launched by its sub-brand Honor in India as Honor Holly 2 Plus. The smartphone is currently available for pre-order via Jumia and will go on sale in the country soon. The smartphone features an elegant water-wave design and also looks solid with a metal frame on its side.
Coming to the specifications part, the Huawei G Power comes with a 5-inch HD display with 294ppi as pixel density and Asahi DragonTrail glass laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, it packs 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0 port with OTG functionality.
The main USP of the device is it powers a massive 4000mAh battery that has the energy to last upto 39 hours of talk time, 113 hours of audio playback, 18 hours of video playback and 15 hours of Internet surfing. The smartphone also supports reverse charging and can charge other devices with the provided OTG support. The device also supports Quick Charging and 10 minutes of charge can offer upto 3 hours of talk time. The company also touts that the smartphone can last in idle mode for 24 hours with just 10 minutes of charge.
On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and can record videos in 1080p resolution at 30fps. On the front, it has a 5MP snapper with 84-degree wide angle to capture perfect selfie images. The device comes with 16GB of onboard storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion. The device runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based EMUI 3.1 out of the box. The dimensions of the smartphone measure 143.1 x 71.8 x 8.5 mm weighs around 160 grams and will come in White, Black and Gold color variants.
