Huawei has been in the news for a while with the release of its latest device Honor 7i with a creative camera design and a fingerprint sensor. It sports an innovative 13MP camera that can be flipped 180 degrees for front shooting. Now, Huawei is expected to unveil its latest offering Huawei Mate S with a slogan “The Power Of Touch” indicating the device will use “Force Touch” technology.
The device is expected to launch on September 2 at IFA 2015 in Berlin. It was anticipated to come with some high-end specifications and higher price. But, all thanks to the online store that listed the smartphone even before its launch priced at $599. Now, we can share the correct specifications and price of the device.
The smartphone features a 5.7-inch full-HD (1080×1920) IPS OLED display with almost invisible bezels offering 368ppi as a pixel density. It comes powered by Kirin 935 octa-core processor, the same processor earlier used in Huawei P8. The device comes with Mali-T628 GPU alongside 3GB RAM and 64GB built-in storage.
On the camera cordon, It sports a 20MP rear camera with an LED flash and an 8MP front camera for selfie lovers. The device supports dual sim functionality and connectivity includes 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and a microUSB port. The other vital features include fingerprint sensors in a new concave shape placed below the rear camera of the device.
The most highlight part of Mate S is the “Force Touch” display that can analyze the pressure of your touch. It is believed that the same display technology is also used in Apple’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus that are expected to launch on September 9.Though ZTE unveiled the Axon Mini with Force Touch display, Mate S will be the world’s first smartphone to feature Force Touch technology.
The device comes with a long-lasting 4100mAh Li-Po battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based EMUI 3.1 out of the box. The dimensions of the handset measure 157 x 81 x 7.9 mm weighing around 185 grams. It comes in two colors – White and Black.
The impressive specs and high price makes Mate S a premium category smartphone. Apart from this Google is also teamed up with Huawei to release their next Nexus device. Huawei Mate S unveils on September 2 a week before Apple’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S plus, and it will be exciting to see which device will offer better Force Touch display.
