The Chinese smartphone giant, Huawei has been in the rumor mills for a while now about the launch of its upcoming flagship Huawei P9. Recently, the company has announced that the smartphone will be unveiled on April 6th at an event in London. The smartphone is expected to launch in four different variants Huawei P9, P9 Pro, P9 Max and P9 Lite. As per the earlier leaked images, the device is expected to sport dual rear camera setup and will be the first ever smartphone to come with Leica lens. Recently, few other leaks about all the four variants have surfaced online that reveals key specifications.

Let’s talk about the devices in detail:
Huawei P9
As mentioned earlier, the Huawei P9 features a 5.2-inch (1920×1080 pixels) full-HD display with 424ppi as pixel density. Under the hood, it comes powered by Kirin 950 octa-core processor clubbed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based latest EMUI 4.0 out of the box. The smartphone sports dual 12MP rear camera with Leica lens, OIS, dual-tone LED flash and laser autofocus and an 8MP front snapper for stunning captures. It powers a 3000mAh battery and will include connectivity options like Global 4G-LTE bands, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS.
Huawei P9 Pro
Huawei P9 Pro is the upgraded variant of the Huawei P9, and will come with few differences over P9. The P9 Pro will come with similar 5.2-inch full-HD display and will come equipped with Kirin 955 octa-core chipset when compared to Kirin 950 SoC seen on the P9. The smartphone will also come with higher 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage when compared to the P9 that has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Apart from this, there will not be any other changes between the P9 and P9 Pro. The smartphone will also have dual 12MP rear cameras, support dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Huawei P9 Max
As the name indicates, the Huawei P9 Max flaunts a large 6.2-inch (2560×1440 pixels) Quad-HD 2K display and will house the latest Kirin 955 octa-core SoC. The device will come with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in storage and we can also expect to come with 128GB storage variant. The smartphone is equipped with dual 12MP rear cameras and an 8MP front shooter for selfies. The handset will come backed by a huge battery considering the large display size and high-end performance. It will also support Global 4G-LTE bands and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.0 overlaid.
Huawei P9 Lite
The last and the most affordable device in the P9 series is the Huawei P9 Lite. The smartphone will come with 5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD display with 441ppi as pixel density. Under the hood, it packs Snapdragon 650 1.8GHz hexa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and an externalSD card slot for further expansion of memory. The smartphone is also equipped with dual 12MP rear camera setup with OIS, laser autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. The device will have all the standard connectivity options and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
All the four variants of the Huawei P9 series will come with all-metal body design, will feature USB Type-C port and also houses fingerprint sensor for enhanced security. The Huawei P9 and P9 Pro are expected to cost $475 and $565; the P9 Max will be priced at $630 while the most affordable P9 Lite will be priced at $290. The smartphones are expected to go on sale starting from April 16th in China later followed by other major markets.
