The Chinese smartphone giant, Huawei is in the news for a while now about the launch of its flagship Huawei P9 that is confirmed to launch on April 6. It is supposed to come in four different variants Huawei P9, P9 Pro, P9 Max and P9 Lite. Today, a new mid-range smartphone from the brand has surfaced online called as Huawei Y5 II. The smartphone is the upgraded variant of the Huawei Y5 that launched last year with entry-level features. Apart from the Y5 II, the company is also said to be working on the successor of Y3 named as Huawei Y3 II.

As per the sources, the Huawei Y5 II will flaunt a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display offering 294ppi as pixel density when compared to its predecessor that has a 4.5-inch FWVGA panel. The smartphone will come equipped with 64-bit MediaTek MT6735P quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali-T720 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Emotion 3.1 UI out of the box. It has 8GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion of memory.
The major upgrade of the smartphone can be seen in the camera department. The Y5 II features an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing shooter video chats and selfie images. Interestingly, it also includes a front flash for selfie lovers. On the other hand, the Y5 came with a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie snapper without LED flash support. The smartphone includes connectivity options like 4G-LTE/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0 port.
The handset will power a 2200mAh battery that is rated to take you comfortably through the day on a single charge. The smartphone is supposed to come in various color variants like Black, White, Sand Gold, Rose Pink and Sky Blue. The Huawei Y5 II is expected to be priced at $165 and will arrive in Q2 of 2016 in select countries.
