Procedure to Update Galaxy Nexus with JRN84D Android 4.1 Firmware:
- Download the Jellybean 4.1 JRN84D Firmware from here to your computer. Once its downloaded, you now need to connect your device with the computer using the Original USB cable and place the downloaded zip file in your device.
- Disconnect the device and turn Off the device so that it can then be entered in the recovery mode. Turn off the Galaxy Nexus so that it can be entered in the Boot loader mode. Boot loader mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Up + Volume Down and then simultaneously press the Power button till you see the boot loader mode screen. Just in case if the phone boots up in the normal mode, then you need to again try entering the device in the boot loader mode.
- In boot loader, mode, you need to select the option of “recovery mode” with the help of Volume keys and press the power button to confirm the same. - Once the device is applied with this firmware update, the device will land back to the recovery mode screen. Select “Go Back” and “reboot system now” for rebooting the device. once the device is rebooted, you need to go to the path “Settings > About Phone” where it will be shown the current firmware version as Jellybean 4.1 Firmware.
Note: At any point of time just in case if the process of firmware update gets stopped due to any reason, all you need to do is restart the process from the start by re inserting the battery.
