Karbonn has launched the Aura smartphone in India, today. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 4,990. It features a 5-inch (12.7cm) big IPS-LCD screen that offers a consistent and accurate colour from all viewing angles, as claimed by the company.
The Karbonn Aura is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 512 MB RAM. It has an 8GB internal storage expandable to 32GB. Aura runs on Android 4.4, KitKat OS. The Display of the phone is multi-touch capacitive screen and the pinch zoom allows to zoom the image in just one pinch.
The handset sports a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. Aura also comes with G- sensor which senses the tilting direction of the phone and auto rotates itself. It can also be synced to Outlook emails and comes with a Voice Search option. The connectivity options include 2G, 3G and Wi-Fi networks, and transfer data over Bluetooth and microUSB 2.0. It has a 2000 mAh of battery.
Karbonn Mobile that manufactures mobile handsets in China have plans to open an assembly line in Noida, on the outskirts of New Delhi, in the next quarter, add another in Bengaluru and start a factory in Hyderabad over the next 12 months. The company, which has said previously that it plans to assemble and eventually make phones in India, is looking to double the sales of phones that it makes over the next year. It wants to do so by manufacturing in India.
