Lenovo A10 Android Powered Laptop with 10.1-inch Screen Announced: Specs, Pricing

Lenovo, the electronics manufacturing company which has been the best with computer making, has just announced their first Android powered laptop, the Lenovo A10 which was leaked a couple of times in the past few days. The laptop comes with the 10.1-inch screen with the resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, and this comes with the Dual-mode where the laptop mode has got a separate new interface from Lenovo for the users to have some access to normal computing when they wish to use it.

The screen obviously comes with the keyboard dock, and the screen can be flipped to 300 degrees in the stand mode. The fold back design can help keep the screen stable when multiple fingers are used to take advantage of the touchscreen of the Lenovo A10. On the top of the screen, there’s a 0.3-megapixel camera included. The internal powering included in the Lenovo A10 is by RK3188, quad-core Cortex-A9 processor with the speeds clocking at 1.6 GHz, and this is the fastest for any ARM based chipset having four cores running. The company’s press releases notes that the battery of the A10 provides a battery life of around 9 hours on continuous video playback.

“With the recent explosive growth in Android-based, smart connected devices, customers are relying more on Android apps for both work and play. Why should they be required to switch and duplicate to use their laptop? Lenovo’s A10 brings ultra-portability and dual-mode benefits to Android users at a reasonable price,” said Bai Peng, vice president and general manager, notebook business unit, Lenovo Business Group. “Thin and light, with multiple modes and user-inspired innovations for an outstanding user experience … the A10 is uniquely Lenovo.”

There’s a laptop mode in which Lenovo has included a customized user interface which comes with an app launcher, a task and status bar, and there is a quick access to the app library and desktop, while there is a very good app switching and multitasking possibility in this interface. Running the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, the Lenovo A10 has a thickness of 17.3mm at the thickest point along with the keyboard dock. Lenovo has include an Accutype mode for the keyboard while using it in the laptop mode.

The pricing of the Lenovo A10 is not announced yet, but Lenovo has said that the pricing would depend based on the location, indicating that this Android laptop might be available in several markets where Lenovo is already selling its laptops and smartphones.
