The Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo has quietly introduced a new smartphone called the A7000 Plus. It is the successor to the A7000 that launched earlier this year. The A7000 Plus has been officially launched in the Philippines and will go on sale in the country on September 15 via Lazada, a local e-commerce website priced at PHP 7,999 (Rs. 11,400 approx).
As the name suggests, A7000 Plus is an upgraded variant of the A7000 that released in April in India at Rs. 8,999. The new smartphone features a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) FHD display while the A7000 came with a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display. The A7000 Plus comes powered by MediaTek (MT6752) 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz coupled with 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage and microSD card support for expansion upto 32GB. The A7000 also featured an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz but has less inbuilt storage, i.e., 8GB.
It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing shooter for video calling and selfie clicks and comes backed by a 3000mAh battery. For comparison, Lenovo A7000 packs an 8MP rear camera and a 2900mAh battery.
On the connectivity front, the A7000 Plus has the dual sim dual standby support with 4G-LTE connectivity and other basic connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB port. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Vibe UI out of the box and also features speakers powered by Dolby Atmos technology. The company is yet to reveal the availability details of the new A7000 Plus for other markets, but we can expect the device to release in India in the coming months.
Lenovo India last week announced that it sold over 500,000 K3 Note units in India in less than two months since the smartphone’s launch in the country.
