Yesterday, the popular Chinese smartphone giant, Xiaomi launched the much-hyped entry-level Redmi 3 smartphone in China priced at 699 Yuan ($107). Today, the rival brand Lenovo has launched an impressive budget-friendly Lenovo Lemon 3 smartphone in China and is also priced similarly at 699 Yuan (approx $107). This is the same device that was certified by TENAA in December 2015 with model number K32c36 and also features almost similar specifications that were revealed by certification website.
Like the Xiaomi Redmi 3, the Lenovo Lemon 3 also sports an all-metal unibody design and feels premium in hand. Regarding specifications, the smartphone flaunts a 5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD display offering a pixel density of 441ppi and Gorilla Glass protection when compared to the Redmi 3 which features a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD display. Under the hood, it comes equipped with 64-bit Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
On the camera cordon, the smartphone sports a 13MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera for video chats and selfie clicks. The camera of the smartphone can record videos in 1080p resolution at 30fps. The dual sim dual standby capable device comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi and microUSB 2.0 port. It has 16GB of built-in storage and can be further expanded upto 128Gb via microSD card slot.
The handset powers a 2750mAh battery that has the energy to last upto 32 hours of talk time in 2G mode and 15 days in standby mode. The battery is much smaller when compared to the Redmi 3 which packs a massive 4100mAh battery. The dimensions of the handset measure 142 x 71 x 7.99 mm and weighs around 142 grams. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and comes in Gold and Silver color options. The Lenovo Lemon 3 is the perfect competitor for the recently launched Redmi 3 that also comes at a similar price. The Lemon 3 will launch in international markets with a different name and most probably it will be called as Lenovo Vibe P1 Mini. Stay tuned for more updates in coming days.
