Lenovo has already kicked of its IFA campaign with much awaited flagship device dubbed as Vibe X2, but company did not stop there, the Chinese manufacturer has announced another flagship, which is a successor to Vibe Z, launched earlier this year. Company touts its 64-bit processor as it is one of the few devices to sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 chipset can support Adreno 306 GPU, it clocks at 1.2 GHz.
The metal brushed unibody designed, Vibe Z2 features a 5.5-inch FHD (1280 x 720 pixels resolution) display, which is extra-bright and has capability of showing 600nit and it will be running on Android 4.4 OS (Kitkat) out of the box. One the storage front, the device will pack a 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, also there is no mention of a microSD card slot, which means the storage is fixed, which is a con for any device, and this is a flagship phone.
In the camera department, the device sports a 13MP Autofocus rear-camera with LED flash, OIS (optical image stabilization), and Sony Exmor BSI sensor. It also boasts an 8MP front-facing camera specially designed to take selfies at high resolution as it has gesture controls and beautification features in the camera app. The front camera module also feature a button-free shutter control and new instant ON camera feature allowing users to capture the photos very quickly, during the standby mode.
For connectivity, the device offers various set of features like 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. Its dimensions are 148.5 X 76.4 X 7.8mm and weighs only 158 grams, the device will also support dual SIM as it is great for combining the work and play in one device. All this will be powered by a powerful 3000mAh battery, which has a rated talktime of up to 28 hours and standby time of up to 17 days on 3G network.
On the comparison note, the device will be competing with the Xiaomi’s Mi4 (Hands-on), Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and other high-end flagship devices. The Vibe Z2 is the second flagship that will be out in China this October for the equivalent of $429, and later roll out to the other markets (Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East) where Lenovo is currently present.
