These days we see many smartphones from various companies passing through benchmarking sites giving us the glimpse of the upcoming devices before they are officially unveiled in the market. Recently, two new budget smartphones from Lenovo with model numbers XT1700 and XT1706 have popped up on the GFXBench listing revealing the few key features. Lenovo has recently acquired the Motorola and has also confirmed that it will not discontinue the successful Moto E or Moto G lineup. We can expect the upcoming Lenovo models to be the new variants of the Moto E (2016). The upcoming smartphone will be the successor of Moto E (2015) that launched back in February 2015.
As per the GFXBench listing, the Lenovo XT1700 and XT1706 will come with a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display that offers a pixel density of 294ppi and Gorilla Glass laid on top for protection. Under the hood, the smartphones are expected to come equipped with Mediatek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz clubbed with Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The devices will have 16GB of built-in storage and will also include an externalSD card slot for further expansion of memory. The handsets will support dual sim dual standby and are supposed to run on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
On the camera front, the smartphone will sport an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording and a 5MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfie lovers. It will include standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB port. If this comes true, the upcoming Moto E (2016) will be the first device in the Moto E lineup to come with a 5-inch display and MediaTek processor. Like other Moto devices, we can also expect the upcoming Moto E smartphone to come with a water repellant coating. The company has confirmed none of the above details, so we advise you to take this with a proverbial pinch of salt. Stay tuned for the official confirmation that is expected soon.
