Asus launched the budget-friendly Zenfone Go smartphone in India back in September last year with 5-inch HD display, 2GB RAM and 8MP camera at Rs. 7,999. Later, the brand also released a smaller variant of the device called as Asus Zenfone Go 4.5 at Rs. 5,299. Today, Asus Japan has launched a new variant of the smartphone with upgraded specifications called as Asus Zenfone Go (ZB551KL-BK16). The new Zenfone Go is priced at 21,384 Yen (approx $190 / Rs. 12,640) and will go on sale in Japan starting from April 2nd.
Talking about the specifications, the Asus Zenfone Go flaunts 5.5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display with 267ppi as pixel density when compared to the earlier launched device that has a 5-inch screen. Under the hood, it comes powered by Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz clubbed with Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB of RAM for the lag-free performance of the device. It has 16GB of internal storage double that of 8GB built-in storage of the earlier Zenfone Go device. It supports dual sim dual standby and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion of memory upto 32GB.
On the camera cordon, the smartphone comes equipped with a similar 8MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash. On the front, it has a better 5MP snapper when compared to 2MP shooter seen on the earlier device. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Zen UI overlaid and includes standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth and microUSB 2.0 port. The handset comes backed by a slightly larger 3010mAh battery that the company touts is rated to deliver upto 12 hours of talk time and upto 514 hours of standby time. Its dimensions measure 151 x 76.9 x 10.7 mm weighs around 160 grams and comes in Black, White and Blue color options.
