LG G5 Rumoured to Feature IRIS Recognition Technology

LG G5, which will be the next flagship from LG, is rumoured to include an IRIS recognition technology. The device isn’t expected to release anytime soon since the LG G4 was launched recently. There is no fingerprint scanner included in the LG G4, if the rumours are to be true then LG may miss the fingerprint scanner and include the IRIS scanner.

The news came out with the reports saying LG along with Irience; a local biometric specialist are teamed up to bring the new technology for the upcoming flagships from LG. As per the report, the hardware module of the new IRIS technology is now completed. In 2-3 months the software part of this new technology will also be completed, the engineers are focussed on increase the current scanning range from 30cm to 50cm.

The VIVO X5 Pro and Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G are the only devices in the market to include this feature. The biometric security feature is now available across the entire flagship from top manufacturers except LG. The Apple iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy s6 and HTC One M9+ all had the fingerprint scanner.

If the rumours are believed, the LG’s H1 2016 flagship will come included with IRIS scanner. The LG G4 was recently launched and was made available to US few days back. The device comes with 5.5-inch QuadHD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset instead of Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset. It has 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of storage and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based LG’s UX 4.0 UI. The device is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. There is a 16MP rear camera with dual LED flash and 8MP front-facing camera. A dual SIM variant of the LG G4 has also been recently launched. LG also announced six different leather back covers along with three plastic made back covers.
