LG Optimus GT 540 – Steps to Install ICS Android 4.0 Firmware

Procedure to update LG Optimus GT 540 with ICS Android 4.0:

  • Before proceeding, you need to Root LG Optimus GT 540 device and then Download ICS ANDROID 4.0 Zip Package in your computer. (Without Rooting This Update can’t be accommodated).
  • Connect your phone to the computer using the USB Cable and copy the downloaded Zip file to the SD Card of the device.
  • After copying, remove the USB Cable and enable the USB Debugging Mode. The USB Debugging can be enabled from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” as shown in the below screen capture.

  • After this, turn off the phone so as to enter into the recovery mode. To enter LG Optimus GT 540 in the recovery mode, you need to turn off the phone and after 5 seconds press Home Button and continuing holding this press the Power ON button to start the device in the recovery mode.
  • Once the device enters in the recovery mode, you need to select the “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the ICS Android 4.0 Zip file which you have placed in your phone. It will take around 10 minutes for the whole process of update to get completed. Once the update process is done, the device will be landing up in the recovery mode. Now, select “++++ Go Back ++++” > “reboot system now” to reboot the phone.
  • So there you go, you have successfully updated the device with the ICS Android 4.0 firmware. Just in a rare case if the device gets stuck at any point of time, you need to pull off the battery, reinsert and again re follow the procedure to apply this update.
