Procedure to update Galaxy S3 Mini with Official XXAMG4 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware:
- Download XXAMG4 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware Package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract both the files and open Odin in your computer.
- In Odin, you enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options by selecting the check boxes. But the Re-Partition check box must not be selected or checked.
- Turn off your Galaxy S3 Mini smartphone so that it can now be entered in the Download Mode. Download mode in Galaxy S3 Mini can be entered by holding the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device.
- Just in rare case, your phone ends up booting in the normal mode then you will have to retry the above process to get your phone in the download mode.
- Connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable once your S3 Mini enters in the Download Mode while keeping odin opened in your computer.
- Once connected, you will see that the ID: COM section is turned Yellow / green depending upon the Odin version to indicate that all the required drivers are installed successfully.
- Click on “PDA” to select the tar file which you will get upon extracting the firmware zip file in the 1st step to click on “Start” for starting the process of firmware update. Wait for around 3 -4 minutes for the update process to get completed and once the firmware is applied successfully, the phone will be rebooted.
- Once you see the home screen in your phone, disconnect the phone from computer. You can check the current firmware version from the path “Settings > More > About Device” where you will get to see the current firmware version as XXAMG4 Jellybean 4.1.2 Android firmware.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
