While Android users are still waiting for Jellybean 4.3 Android OS, it’s time now for Nexus 7 2013 users to update with the latest version of Jellybean 4.3.1 Android OS. While there is no ETA on by when there will be an official update for this, you can apply with this update manually with the help of below mentioned instructions after following the list of quick pre requisites. There are many bug fixes related to battery and also issues related to WiFi has been fixed. The OTA size is of 9.42MB and has the same radio as that of 4.3 (DEB-G00_2.25.1_0802).
Quick Pre Requisites:
- It’s mandatory that you backup all your data present in your device with the help of below mentioned steps as there is a probability that the data in your device might get erased or deleted in the process of rooting.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- From the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, enable the USB Debugging, ensure that the USB debugging option is ticked.
- Minimum charge left in your device is minimum of 40% so as to make sure that your Nexus 7 2013 doesn’t give up in the middle of rooting process.
- ADB should be configured in your computer as this update will have to be side loaded.

- Download Jellybean 4.3.1 Android OS Zip Package from the below mentioned links.

- signed-razorg-JLS36I-from-JLS36C.zip
- Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of computer and place the downloaded zip file in the fastboot folder in your computer.
ADB Devices (it will list the connected devices),
ADB Reboot recovery (this command will reboot the device in the recovery mode automatically)
adb sideload
- It will take round about 4 -5 minutes for applying the same. Once applied, you will have to check the same from the path “Settings > About” where the current firmware version will be mentioned as Jellybean 4.3.1 Android OS.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then long press on power button and re follow the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.
