Procedure to Update SONY XPERIA Z with Jellybean 4.3 Google PLAY Edition:
- Download the Jellybean 4.3 Google PLAY Edition from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and extract the zip file to copythe downloaded firmware zip file to the to the root of the Xperia Z smartphone.
- Boot the Xperia Z into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together. The recovery mode will appear soon.
- In recovery mode, you need to use the Volume buttons for navigating between the options and press the Power button to select the desired option.
- Now, in the recovery mode, you will have to select the Nandroid backup option for creating the backup of existing ROM. After this, select the option of “Wipe data / factory reset” and then tap on yes on the next screen to confirm the option along with the Wipe Dalvik Cache option.
- Select the install zip from sd card option to select the choose zip from sd card option to locate the Android 4.3 Google Play Edition ROM zip file which you have copied in the phone’s SD Card.
- Press the Power button to select the same and confirm installation in the next screen.
- Once the firmware is updated successfully, you need to select the option of “reboot system now”. To check on whether the firmware is updated successfully or not, you will need to check the same from the path “Menu>> Settings>> About phone>> Software info”. If the device is not updated, you will need to re follow the procedure for applying the update.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just long press the Power button and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
