Amongst the big list of phones that are being developed by various brands, with the 1080p HD display, Pantech isn’t going to keep itself out of the league. The latest rumors and WiFi certification showed this device listed in it, and we are getting the big claim that the phone is going to have a 1080p display, and some other excellent specs. This would be another device with the 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, and internally its nothing less because we would be seeing a quad core processor in the Vega.
This seems like a big attempt to release a flagship device for the next year, and the expected date for announcement of the phone would be around CES in January, and that is the main time during the year, apart from the MWC, where the best devices are unveiled by various brands. The 1.5 GHz quad-core S4 Pro processor would power the Vega, and there should be a support by 2GB of RAM and the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS would run the device.
This is the information we have been able to garner yet, and there’s nothing about the camera, other internal specs and the battery in the phone but the screen could be a 5-inch one because most of the 1080p competitive devices have a 5 inch display. Pantech has been a brand with some budget phones with neat specs, but they haven’t been able to gain the same fan base and attention that the larger brands have been able to do. If the price is kept low by Pantech, there should be a big success for the company as there would be a big list of devices with the 1080p displays coming out at around the same time.
The Wi-Fi certification shows that the Wi-Fi would be of IEEE a/b/g/n standards and the special features include the Wi-Fi protected setup with PIN and PBC, while we would even see the Wi-Fi direct option. The Vega IM-A860S would be a successor to the Vega Racer 2, which was a competition to the Galaxy S III and had some excellent specifications, while we would see things to the next level with the Vega.
We’d update you if we see any surprises through the leaks or any official answer from the manufacturer. Hope Pantech works well on the battery, as its devices have been showing the fast battery draining always. Few devices to keep a check on, with similar displays – Oppo Find 5, ZTE Nubia Z5, HTC Butterfly, Huawei Ascend Mate and the Sony Yuga.
