How to Root Galaxy Note N7000 on ICS DDLP8/ DXLP9 4.0.3 Firmware

Procedure to Root Galaxy Note on DXLP9 / DDLP9:

  • Download DXLP9 | DDLP8 rooting package in your computer and once downloaded extract the same so as to get the files mentioned below. Please note that if your phone is on DXLP9 ICS 4.0.3 Firmware, then you need to download DXLP9 Package and similarly for DDLP9.
  • Up next, download Odin in your computer and open the same. Turn off your Galaxy Note so that it can be then entered in the Download Mode.

Odin for Note

  • Download mode can be entered by pressing  Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Now, a Warning message will be shown when you need to press the Volume Up key to continue entering the Download Mode.

Note Connected

  • Connect your phone with the computer and once connected, you should see the ID:COM section turning yellow indicating that all the drivers have been successfully installed in your computer.

Note: Just in case the ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to follow the below mentioned steps.

  • Install the USB Drivers in your computer & Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings” &
  • Ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer.
  • Now, click on “PDA” to select “CF-Root-SGN_DD_ODD_LP8-v5.5-CWM5.tar” or “CF-Root-SGN_DX_OLB_LP9-v5.5-CWM5.tar” . Once selected, click on “Start” for starting the process of rooting. Once the device is rooted successfully, it will be rebooted and once you see the home screen, disconnect the device from the computer.

PDA Selected

  • Turn Off the device so that it can be then entered in the recovery mode. Recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Now, a Warning message will be shown when you need to press the Volume Down key to continue entering the Recovery Mode.
  • In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition for clearing all the data. Or else, you can directly choose the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the phone if you don’t wish to lost the data.

Note: At any point of time just in case if the process of firmware update gets stopped due to any reason, all you need to do is restart the process from the start by re inserting the battery.
