Procedure to Root Galaxy Gio S 5660:
- First up, download the GalaxyGio_RootingPackage.zip in your computer after which you will then have to ensure that the file is placed on the desktop so that it can be tracked easily.
- Once the zip file is downloaded, without renaming or modifying or even unzipping the same you will then have to move this zipped file to your phone which can be done by connecting the phone to the computer with the help of the USB cable which you have got with the Galaxy Gio S5660 at the time of purchase.
- Now, place this file in your phone and then you will have to ensure that you are not placing this deep into any other folder which will make it difficult to update with the same. After this, you will now have to put your phone in the recovery mode for which you need to turn Off the Phone.
- The device can be put in the recovery mode by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device. If you have successfully entered into the download mode then you will see a green screen which is shown below. Also, additionally note that if the device boots in the normal mode with the home screen then you will have to again switch off the device and retry the process.
- Now, in the recovery mode, you will have to choose the option of “update from SD card” after which you will then have to choose the file which you placed the same in your phone which is having the name of “GalaxyGio_RootingPackage.zip”. Choose the same and then the process of rooting will be initiated. Please ensure that in the process of rooting there will be incidents like screen flickering and your device may also be restarted in the process of rooting, so don’t panic and interrupt the process.
- Please note that once the rooting process is done, the device will be rebooted and then you will see that a super user application which will be in the skull shaped along with the Clock Work Mod Recovery (CWM) application.
NOTE : Its highly recommended to not to clear cache or wipe the data from the recovery mode after rooting the phone as this will clear the “CWM” application which you get after rooting the device.
