Procedure to Root Gingerbread 2.3.4 XXKPE:
- So, now once you have followed all the instructions which are mentioned above, you are ready to proceed for rooting the device. Download XXKPE Rooting Zip Package which contains the Rooting package to your computer.
- Once this zip file is downloaded, you will have to unzip the same. To unzip this zip file you will have to right click on the file and then need to choose “Extract Files” and need to give the path as Desktop so as to easily find the extracted file. Please note that in the process of extraction if it prompts you to enter in the password then enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas.
- One the files are extracted, you will see that there will be two files which are Odin as well as the tar file which is nothing but the Rooting file which we will see in the due course of the article on how to use it.
- Now, turn Off your SAMSUNG Galaxy SL I9003 as you now will have to turn your phone ON in the download mode. To turn ON your phone in the download mode you will have to press the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button), while holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device after which you will see a Green colored Android robot. If you are unable to get into the download mode then you can even refer the video which is mentioned below.
- Now, next up you will have to open the Odin in your computer and then need to connect the USB cable with your phone and computer after which you will see that the ID : COM section will glow yellow as you can see in the below screen shot which means that everything is alright as of now and you can proceed to the next step.
- Now, next up you need to click on the “PDA” tab after which you need to select the extracted file which is named as “CF-ROOT – I9003 – Beta.tar”. As soon as you choose the file, you need to double check that no other files are selected and also the one which is selected is correctly selected as mentioned in the below screen shot.
- Now, after this click on the “Start” tab to start the rooting process and as soon as you click on the Start, it will take a maximum time of 1 minute to finish the rooting process and as soon as the rooting process is finished, the device will be restarting and then in the device you will see that two new icons will be made which are CWM and Super User. The CWM is nothing but the Clock Work mod Recovery app and the Super User app will be in the skull shaped. If and only if you see these two apps in your phone will mean that the device has been rooted successfully.
Please note that it’s recommended to not to clear the cache or wipe the data from the recovery mode for this version or else you will be losing the Clock Work Mod App. That’s it you have now successfully rooted your phone which is running on the XXKPE 2.3.4 Version of firmware.
