The Samsung Galaxy Ace is highly acclaimed and successful mid-range model handset. On the other side of comparison we have low priced Huawei X2 mobile phone which highlights with trackpad and almost same specifications as that of Galaxy Ace with almost 50 % less price attached to it.
We would go through comparison in different segments –
Table of Contents:
- Price Comparison
- Processor Comparison
- Camera Comparison
- Operating System and User Interface Comparison
- Display Screen Comparison
- Connectivity Comparison
- Memory Comparison
- Battery Specs & Life Comparison
Samsung Galaxy Ace – Rs 13,000
Huawei X2 U8500 – Rs 7000
Well, if you are think that why price comes first, then there is a reason behind my comparison. Since Galaxy Ace is almost double in price the comparison would be fairly based on their price range.
Samsung Galaxy Ace – 800 MHz ARM 11 processor
Huawei X2 – 528 MHz processor
Just on the basis on specifications comparison, it would be bad to say Huawei X2 is bad with 528 Mhz processor and Samsung Galaxy Ace is inferior with 800 Mhz processor. The Huawei X2 processor accordingly to its price is a better one. Samsung Galaxy Ace has been a hit model in the low price range and 800 Mhz is the ideal for such mid-range model handsets.
Samsung Galaxy Ace – Android 2.2 Froyo OS
Huawei X2 – Android 2.2 Froyo OS
I would say Android OS is enough to describe the reach of both the phones. Both the phones can be upgraded to the higher version of Android i.e., Gingerbread and we have tutorial for Huawei X2 U8500 and numerous custom ROM for Galaxy Ace mobile phone.
Samsung Galaxy Ace – 3.5 inches capacitive touchscreen display
Huawei X2 – 3.2 inches capacitive touchscreen display
The touchscreen response on the Samsung Galaxy Ace is pretty good enough with Touchwiz from Samsung with 3.5 inches screen size and a maximum resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It comes with pixel density of 165ppi. Provided with Gorilla Glass display and accelerometer. The Huawei X2 has 3.2 inches touchscreen display with 180 pixels ppi and comes along with accelerometer, proximity sensor and you would love the optical trackpad included in the phone.
Going in comparison with the phone, keeping in mind the price attached with each one, we would say Samsung Galaxy Ace has gone response and also Huawei X2 too doesn’t lag behind in this section of competition.
Samsung Galaxy Ace – 5 mega pixel camera with auto focus & LED flash
Huawei X2 – 3.15 mega pixel camera
Galaxy Ace in particular impresses with 5 mega pixel camera with auto focus and LED flash which makes the video recording possible at 15 fps and no secondary camera. The Huawei X2 doesn’t include any secondary camera too. The Huawei X2 with 3.15 mega pixel camera is no way in competition with Galaxy Ace and I would if you are looking for some short of better camera option then Galaxy Ace is better and clear winner.
The Huawei X2 with 3.15 is no way a good camera.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy Ace
Samsung Galaxy Ace – 158 MB, 32 GB expandable memory
Huawei X2 – 158 MB, 32 GB through microSD card
Well, it’s obvious that most of the mobile handset would include the option of microSD card slot and now the trend is of 32 GB support. Both the mobile phone has 158 MB of internal storage and includes a card slot to expand the memory. Ideally 32 GB is large enough space for multimedia content on your phone.
Samsung Galaxy Ace – Wi-Fi, 3G HSDPA, GPRS with Edge
Huawei X2 – Wi-Fi, 3G HSDPA, GPRS with Edge
Samsung Galaxy Ace and Huawei X2 U8500 phone are 3G mobile phone and supports HSDPA connectivity with maximum speed of 7.2 Mbps. Also along with that they have the option of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and include the option of Wi-Fi hotspot sharing of data connection with 5 other Wi-Fi enabled mobile phones. Last resort you can try out GPRS with EDGE on 2G for data requirements.
Samsung Galaxy Ace – Li-ion 1350 mAh battery
Huawei X2 – Li-ion 1150 mAh battery
The Galaxy Ace with standard Lithium ion battery of 1350 mAh will power this handset with 640 hours of talktime during 2 G usage and up to 420 hours during the 3G usage as stand by time. You can expect 11 hours of talk time during 2G usage. Whereas when you come to Huawei X2 it last for just 5 hours during 2G usage and provides a standby time of up to 300 hours.
Other Features
The Huawei X2 includes the microUSB connectivity, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, A GPS and other codecs playback. Both the mobile phones supports non-flash based apps available for free download from the Android Market and they include 3.5 mm headset jack connectivity options.

Conclusion
As you see Samsung Galaxy Ace emerges a front runner in almost all the division but the fact that it’s priced almost double than the Huawei X2, it would be unfair to say negative about it. The Huawei X2 U8500 is among the best Android mobile phones at its price and worth affording. However, most of the users will go with Galaxy Ace as brand of trust is always there.
